June 2010
NEWS FLASH: Quilceda Creek HAS been released and WE HAVE IT IN STOCK NOW.
New 2007 Quilceda Creek Cabernet $169.99
Quiceda Creek has been arguably Washington's most dependably outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon over the past 20 years -- with today's fleshier and increasingly refined wines giving Napa Valley cult Cabs a run for their money.
We do have 2005 and 2006 of Quilceda Creek (a very few bottles left); Andrew Will; and Leonetti Cellars. Stop by and browse those locked cages!
Justin Isosceles, New '07 ONLY $59.99 for a limited time, or while it lasts.
New vintages of Leonetti Cellars (all wines, including Reserve $169.99/btl.) and Betz wines in, but HURRY, quantities are very limited on these "ultra premium" very tightly allocated "Superstar" Washington Reds. It's a 4-5 year wait to get on Leonetti's mailing list! WINE NOT stop in today and pick up a few bottles
D2 from Delille/Chaleur Estate
$39.99/btl. (plus all discounts). The bouquet of the deeply violet-colored 2007 D2 jumps out of the glass with plums, rainier cherries, vanilla, spiced currents, caramel, tobacco, and a touch of toasted coconut flakes. This wine is rich on the palate with D2's trademark lush mouth feel and tones of dark fruits, mocha, and an assortment of baking spices. Another winner from a perennial favorite.
Varietal Blend:
51% Merlot; 40% Cabernet Sauvignon; 7.5% Cabernet Franc; 2% Petit Verdot'
Vineyard Breakdown:
21% Stillwater Creek Merlot; 10% Klipson Vineyard Merlot; 9% Boushey Vineyard Merlot; 6% Ciel du Cheval Merlot; 5% Kiona Vineyard Merlot; 16% Ciel du Cheval Cabernet Sauvignon; 12% Grand Ciel Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon; 10% Klipson Vineyard Cabenet Sauvignon; 2% Harrison Hill Cabernet Sauvignon; 7% Ciel du Cheval Cabernet Franc; 2% Ciel du Cheval Petit Verdot
Syrah La Cote Rousse
The only one of Betz's three Syrahs to come from two separate vineyards, sited about a mile from each other on Red Mountain. Three French clones and the classic “Phelps” clone combine in a multi-layered expression of fruit, dried herbs and earth. The French clones are grown at Ciel du Cheval , while the Phelps comes from Scott Williams’ “ranch at the end of the road”.
This ’07 vintage is expressive with black raspberry, plums, black olive and a rocky minerality. Lush and sweet on the palate it’s more integrated early on than some past vintages, offering immediate appeal. But the RedMountain heritage certainly provides ample structure for cellaring.
Pt Wine Seller Price: $65.99/btl (* $54.77/ btl.with "Full" Wineaux Greagrious Discounts)
Syrah La Serenne
Once again, the Boushey Vineyard hit the mark. The small-berried Syrah provided enormous strength and color in 2007. And it's more brooding, dense and jam packed than the past couple years. The nose is full of black and blue berries, smoke, spice, roasted meat. It enters plush, silky and thick, expanding with blackberry and a bit of this vineyard's "sauvage" character.
Betz has been farming the same block of Syrah in Dick Boushey's Vineyard for 8 years now, and have gotten to know this turf well. But 2007 is a slight anomaly: it's firmer and more brooding than most years, dense and concentrated. Yet through it all it maintains its typical seamless texture and lift.
Pt Wine Seller Price: $65.99/btl (* $54.77/ btl.with "Full" Wineaux Greagrious Discounts)
Besoleil
As Washignton state's Grenache vines age the fruit they bear gains more varietal purity. And with every vintage Betz is raising the concentration of Grenache in Besoleil in their attempt to create a classic southern Rhone blend. Grenache is fully 80% of this year's wine, the balance composed of 15% Mourvedre and 5% Syrah.
A new source of Grenache, from the Olsen Estates in the YakimaValley brought greater vibrancy to the blend. It adds a depth of color and an even more intense strawberry, raspberry aroma. Notes of cherry, licorice, black pepper and spice jump from the glass, while a cherries 'n cream mouthfeel really satisfies. And yes, there are notes of that elusive "garrigue", the earthy, dried herb-lavender note typical of these southern Rhone blends.
Pt Wine Seller Price: $49.99/btl(* $41.49 with "full" Wineaux Greagarious discounts)
Doyenne Red by Delille "Aix"
The 2007 Aix is a wine-lover’s wine, with charm to spare. On the nose, black fruits, a wide array of spices, and a hint of lavender come to the fore, with deep smoky and earthy accents from the syrah. The palate is delicate and mouth-watering, with tones of black raspberries, plum, pomegranate, and earth featured. The structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon shines through in the mid-palate and finish. This wine will be delicious upon release and be able to lie down nicely for 5-8 years.
Pt Wine Seller Price: $36.99/btl. ($29.52 btl.with "Full" Wineaux Greagrious Discounts)
Varietal Blend:

Doyenne Syrah
Seductively classic Syrah nose of pomegranate, grilled meats, flowers, and lavender. This wine is outstandingly rich and voluptuous on the palate, with a big black berry core, and earthy notes of lavender, tarragon, and spices. The finish is balanced and powerful, a great addition to the cellar.
Pt Wine Seller Price: $49.99 /btl.. ($41.49/btlbtl.with "Full" Wineaux Greagrious Discounts)
